The Leonards

The Leonards are a five piece band born and bred in Rugeley, Staffs. There is not much to do in the ex mining town of Rugeley and the band are picking up a big following of fans eager for live music and nights out of town watching the band perform. The band was formed twelve months ago by Kieran and Adam o'Brien who recruited old school friend John Hurley as the lead singer and a very talented drinking buddy in Adam Cole as the lead guitarist with the bass player Simon Broadhurst coming along a little later. The band practice at Greenwood studios in Hednesford and have recorded a three track demo which has gone down well on the Midlands music scene creating quite a buzz. Airplay from Kerrang and Touch FM and internet based Brumcast is soon to be followed by a live acoustic recording for Wolverhampton's WRC FM. The band cite The Libertines, Bob Dylan, Oasis, The Strokes and The Smiths as major influences on their sound.

Full line up:

John Hurley ( lead vocals)
Kieran o'Brien ( guitar)
Adam Cole (guitar)
Simon Broadhurst (bass)
Adam o'Brien (drums)

The band play indie music with a rock influence mixing heavy guitar and frantic drumming with passionate vocals. The song writing is a joint effort from the guitarists Kieran and Adam Cole who started to write songs at late night parties after a bellyful of ale! The band started out with gigs in their local town playing venues such as The Vine, The Red Rose, Lea Hall And St Josephs. Gigs in and around the Midlands area were soon to follow and The Leonards are regularly on stage at Cannock's LA Rock Cafe.
